MEET THE TEAM
We've refined our team so we have a huge range of skills on offer; this means that, whatever your Classic VW needs, we are confident to be able to manage it.
Neil Ives
Company Owner/Manager
Neil built his first VW Beetle as a teenager with the help of his dad, Bill. That was over 25 years ago and the VW passion has never left him; he's owned a huge variety of air and water-cooled VWs over the years and can never resist a new project! Neil is fully qualified and holds all levels of both City & Guilds and NVQ's in Motor Vehicle Engineering. He was originally trained at a VW specialist on Aircooled and Early Watercooled VAG vehicles.
STEVE WHITE
Head Fabricator
The newest member of the NJs team, Steve is the most qualified and time-served body repair specialist out of us all. Having worked in the car repair sector for his entire career, as well as being into VWs for over 35 years, Steve is an expert welder and fabricator with countless qualifications on his CV. Perhaps his best asset is his years of service as an insurance engineer/assessor, meaning that he spots bodywork problems that are often difficult for others to see. This means that Steve always knows how to get around panel issues and conduct repairs in the correct manner.
MARK WALKER
Part Time All-Rounder
The only part-time member of our team, Mark has been part of the VW scene for over 30 years. Having owned his first Beetle at 16, Mark went on to get some qualifications in Car restoration courtesy of City&Guilds and Contour Autocraft, before starting his own VW repair/modification business – The Bus Station – which he ran for 11 years, with numerous magazine featured cars to his credit. Mark has also written for Volksworld, Camper & Bus, VWt and several other magazines since 2003 and has two published VW books – Patina Volkswagens and How to build a Patina Volkswagen. Mark has a wide-ranging skillset and knowledge base from suspension modifications through to metal repair and detail work.
